Donald Broughton – Chief Market Strategist, Avondale Partners

As Avondale’s Chief Market Strategist, Donald is responsible for providing a ‘bottoms-up,’ differentiated dissection of the U.S. economy and financial markets, leveraging his expertise in transportation and his proprietary method for translating goods flow data into economic projection. Prior to joining Avondale Partners in 2008, Donald spent 12 years as a Senior Transportation Analyst at A.G. Edwards where he led the Industrial Analysts team and served on the firm’s Investment Strategy Committee. 

In addition to guest lectures at various universities, and speaking engagements at transportation industry conferences, he also shares his expertise on CNBC, CNN and the “Nightly Business Report”.

Attention all undergraduate and graduate students: You are invited to compete in the 2016 APICS – Heartland District Student Case Competition.

This event is open to all full time undergraduate or graduate students within the Hearland District (Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota).

Don’t miss your chance to test your skills, network with supply chain professionals and add a unique experience to your resume.

Winning team will receive prize money and a sponsored trip to the APICS 2016 International Conference in Washington, D.C.

One Day Seminar - Lean Workshop

"Roadmap to Improvement"

Date:               Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Come learn the basics of Lean in a 1 day session and learn the following:

      1. How to develop a Current State Map
      2. Practical application in developing a Current State Map
      3. Lean Principles
      4. Simulation that demonstrates application of lean principles
      5. How to develop a Future State Map
      6. Practical application in developing a Future State Map
      7. How to develop an Action Plan to get to the Future State

The course format will be formal instruction of the topic followed by practical application exercise to practice and apply the learning. This course is designed to give you the basics of Lean to begin applying when you get back to your workplace.  “Value-Stream Mapping Workshop Participant Guide” from the Lean Enterprise Institute will be provided.

The instructors have over 30 years’ experience in operations and supply chain and over 20 years’ experience in Lean implementations. You will have the basics to begin application and making improvements.
